Pemerintah menyatakan bahwa hingga saat ini masih terjadi penularan virus corona di masyarakat.
Hal ini menyebabkan kasus Covid-19 di Indonesia terus bertambah hingga hari ini, Selasa (16/6/2020).
Data pemerintah hingga Selasa siang ini pukul 12.00 WIB memperlihatkan bahwa ada 1.106 kasus baru Covid-19 dalam 24 jam terakhir.
Hal ini menyebabkan ada 40.400 kasus Covid-19 di Indonesia saat ini, terhitung sejak kasus pertama diumumkan Presiden Joko Widodo pada 2 Maret 2020.
Informasi ini disampaikan juru bicara pemerintah untuk penanganan virus corona Achmad Yuriantodalam konferensi pers dari Graha BNPB pada Selasa sore.
"Untuk hari ini kasus positif sebanyak 1.106 orang, sehingga akumulasinya menjadi 40.400 orang," ujar Yurianto.
Yurianto memaparkan, setidaknya ada lima provinsi yang mencatat penambahan kasus Covid-19 dengan angka tinggi.
Jawa Timur kembali mencatat penambahan harian tertinggi dengan 245 kasus baru Covid-19.
Berikutnya, ada Sulawesi Selatan dengan 175 kasus baru, Kalimantan Selatan dengan 169 kasus baru, DKI Jakarta dengan 101 kasus baru, dan Jawa Tengah dengan 56 kasus baru.
"Jumlah ini didapatkan dari tracing yang agresif dari setiap kasus positif yang dirawat," tutur Achmad Yurianto

Mereka dinyatakan sembuh setelah dua kali hasil pemeriksaan dengan metode polymerase chain reaction (PCR) memperlihatkan hasil negatif virus corona.
Dengan demikian, kini ada 15.703 pasien yang sembuh setelah sempat terpapar Covid-19.

"Sehingga totalnya menjadi 2.231 orang," ujar Yurianto.
